Climate Ride Chamonix
& Climate Workshop
4 September 2026
Introduction
On 28 August, the second edition of the Glorious Glacier Ride departs from Innsbruck. It is a 740 km ride through the heart of the Alps to see and feel the impact of climate change and to act upon it.
During one week, the participants will visit the biggest glaciers of the Alps and engage supporters to take climate action by cleaning up carbon emissions. On the last stage, Friday 4 September, the international peloton will visit the Trient Glacier and finish in Chamonix.
Take Action
Join the Climate Ride Chamonix
Cyclists from the Chamonix region are warmly invited to welcome the Glorious Glacier peloton, finish together in Chamonix, and celebrate the ride with a shared drink in the city centre.
The Chamonix climate ride will depart at 12:30 from the Decathlon store at 19 Av. Michel Croz and meet the GGR peloton around 14:00 at the Chalet du Glacier with a view of the remains of the Trient Glacier. After a short break, the Swiss-French border will be crossed again and the Col de Montets is the last hurdle before the festive drinks at the finish.
The concept route can be viewed here.
Understand the Challenge
Join the Climate Fresk
In the morning, from 9:00 to 12:00, an interactive climate workshop will be hosted at [LOCATION]. During this workshop, you will discover the basics of climate change and the impacts of glacier loss, but more importantly, it offers practical perspectives for climate action.
More than 2.5 million people worldwide have taken part in the Climate Fresk and rated it excellent (9/10). Maybe that is because food and drinks are included ;-)
Both the climate ride and the workshop are free of charge.
